Aida Redza is a leading figure in Malaysian contemporary dance, celebrated for her dynamic performances and socially conscious artistic practice. Her extensive training encompasses ballet, modern dance, and traditional Malay forms, providing a rich foundation for her innovative choreography. A graduate of Universiti Sains Malaysia, the University of North Carolina, and Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in the Netherlands, Aida has danced professionally with companies internationally and contributed significantly to the Malaysian arts scene since her return, including being a founding staff member of Akademi Seni Kebangsaan.

Through her work as a dancer, choreographer, and director, Aida consistently challenges female stereotyping and explores themes rooted in Asian philosophy and mythology. She is particularly known for her site-specific and multimedia performances that engage directly with the environment and community. Notable projects such as “Moved By Padi,” “The River Art Project,” and “TradeWinds Arts Exchange” exemplify her commitment to raising awareness about social and environmental issues and fostering international collaboration.
